Dear Members,

Update: State Convention attendee request:

Due to the postponement of the National Convention to October 28th -30th tentatively
and COVID-19 / CARONA VIRUS the Executive Board has decided to move the State
Convention back to be held this year at Cazenovia slated for Friday October 23rd and
Saturday the 24th at the Hampton.
NYS currently is in stage 4 guidelines with COVID - 19 which mandates no group
meetings over 50 people. Pretending that we stay in this current stage
I would like an email or text letting me know if you with any guests plan on
attending. I need to know also if you plan on hotel accommodations for Friday
and Saturday nights. You will have to make them yourself, but I need to know for the
room block asked for. Keep in mind the actual Convention is only Saturday but will run
from 8:00am until closing with Memorial Service, go over Bylaws proposed both for
State and National, Nominations for elections and candidate speeches. The afternoon
will be voting on both Bylaws proposed and elections for State and National, meal,
Auction etc. There will not be any training this year due to our current circumstances. I
would say 9:00pm to be safe but most likely a little sooner. Friday night the 23rd of
October will be a Board meeting and audit starting at 6pm and Sunday morning the 25 th
from 8:00am - 12:00pm is the Fall Conference where the Executive Board, District
Coordinators and Appointees meet to discuss the upcoming year but of course anyone
is welcomed to attend. This information is pertinent for decisions to be made so
please reply ASAP. Please pass the word as our publication will not be a quick
enough response. My email is or text me at 607-
398-8200. Please provide name and contact information.
Please send registrations to Maureen Wratten as listed on the registration form provided
in the July issue with October 1 st being the deadline. We most likely at some point will
be talking about our new PMG and his direction and how any of his positions either will
or may affect us. The Retirees will be holding a meeting with elections and an auction
as well with times to be announced later.
I apologize for anyone that cannot make it that had wished to come. We are in
unprecedented times and had to make the best decision to keep everyone safe for as
long as we could put it off. If this Pandemic still exists which does not allow us the
opportunity to conduct our business, we will again consider our options. We decided to
give free registration to attend. We will be reimbursing up to two nights for rooms used.
All officers and appointees will be reimbursed per Fiscal Policy guidelines. If anyone is
unsure of reimbursements, please give me a call or check out the Fiscal Policy on the

The National reimbursement is still the same with active members getting $600.00 and
the retiree members getting $350.00. We do not know at this point who will be allowed
to attend the National Convention as it will be an abbreviated convention. It may be just
the National Board and State Presidents. The National will advise more as we get closer
to the dates planned.
National Rooms that were booked were all cancelled and registrations for the National
Convention can be either refunded or carried over to next year according to a letter Dan
is sending everyone.
Swing meetings for the fall I will leave it up to each District Coordinator to decide if they
feel comfortable and can get a place that can be used that will allow space for social
distancing or not. All information for them though should be decided and information
placed in the next publication due in the beginning of August.
Northeast Conference that was scheduled for Oct. 2nd - 5th at the Sturbridge Host and
Hotel in Sturbridge Ma. has been cancelled.
State positions we are voting on are Legislative VP, Chapter Member Rep. VP and
Secretary/Treasurer. National positions voting on are Sec/Treasurer and two VP
positions with myself vying for one of them.
Submission of Bylaws will still be allowed for our State Convention up to 60 days prior to
the start of the convention and must be signed by at least ten members to be
considered. All Bylaws proposed were listed in the last issue for the State and National.
Any updates to National please check the National website bottom of the page for
